These feelings of failure were observed in a worldwide poll commissioned by WaterWipes, of over 13,000 adults. This study found that Australia and New Zealand parents were the most self-critical, closely followed by British parents who rated as the second-most anxious.
We know that social media and societal pressure to parent perfectly have led to many parents feeling anxious about 'getting parenting wrong', or worrying about being judged for not being 'perfect', or not raising a 'perfect child'.
Women naturally have a need to excel. We want to be great at our jobs, fun and supportive parents, intimate and attentive partners, caring and loyal friends and super healthy and glamorous when we feel like it.
